Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Give Your Staff a Neutral and Anonymous Support System

What is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential, voluntary service helping employees tackle personal and work-related challenges that could affect their well-being or performance.
At Terraxis, our EAP includes counselling, mediation, restorative dialogue, incident response services, workplace crisis management, and referrals to specialized care — all designed to foster a healthy, safe, and productive work environment.
Why EAPs Are Essential Today
Recent economic and social developments have significantly changed working conditions and the nature of work, directly impacting the health, personal integrity, and well-being of employees. Work-related Psycho-Social Risks (PSR) — such as chronic stress, burnout, and mental breakdown — are now recognized as major challenges for occupational health, public health, and organizational success.
The International Labour Organization has declared that risks like violence and harassment threaten the safety and dignity of workers. In Switzerland, Article 6 of the Federal Labour Act (LTr) and Article 2(1) of Labour Act Order 3 (OLT3) require employers to take all necessary measures to protect both the physical and mental health of their employees.
The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) highly recommends setting up internal systems that allow employees to reach out for neutral, independent support — a core function of the EAP, reinforced by the presence of a Person of Trust.
Additionally, implementing an EAP contributes to your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts by fostering employee well-being, strengthening mental health protections, and promoting a respectful and inclusive workplace culture. It visibly reflects a company’s commitment to responsible governance and sustainable business practices.

The Person of Trust: A Key Component of the EAP
What Role Does the Person of Trust Play?
The Person of Trust listens confidentially to employees facing challenges, explains their options, and guides them toward the most appropriate solution, whether internal mediation, counselling, medical advice, or external therapy. Their proactive approach also includes:

- A neutral, approachable first point of contact for employees
- Early identification and prevention of psychosocial risks
- Emotional support tailored to individual needs
- Strengthening trust and dialogue between management and staff
- Compliance with Swiss legal obligations
- Supports CSR efforts by promoting employee well-being and responsible workplace practices

All EAP services provided by Terraxis are strictly confidential. No personal information is disclosed to the employer without the employee’s explicit consent.
Yes. We provide rapid management and incident response services to handle crises and minimize disruption for your teams.
Using the EAP is simple and fully confidential. Employees can contact Terraxis directly via email or phone to request support. They will be connected to a trained professional—such as a counsellor, mediator, or Person of Trust—who will assess the situation and offer the most appropriate next steps, whether that’s a one-on-one session, mediation, or referral to further care. Managers can also recommend the EAP when they notice signs of distress among team members.
Not necessarily. The person of trust is the first person of contact. His/her role is to guide the employee towards the relevant specialist depending on the situation. His/her role is to listen and propose various solution adapted to the necessity.
Restorative dialogue sessions are facilitated conversations that help rebuild trust, address conflicts, and promote mutual understanding between individuals or teams. These sessions are especially useful after workplace incidents, misunderstandings, or tension. Terraxis provides trained facilitators to guide the process with neutrality and discretion, helping participants express their experiences and find shared ground.
Not exactly. EAP Mediation is a specific form of dispute resolution that focuses on restoring dialogue and finding mutually acceptable solutions with the help of a neutral third party. Dispute resolution is a broader term that can include mediation, arbitration, or other formal processes. At Terraxis, we use mediation as a proactive, confidential, and collaborative approach to resolve conflicts early and constructively within the EAP framework.
Yes. Personal challenges, such as family issues, financial difficulties, or emotional distress, are also eligible for support through the EAP provided the employer has opted to include this support in the programme.
